The last day of work

Walked today me - 3km dogs 1km

I took Ella to the vet this morning for a cartrophen injection. It was suggested that I could give her the rest of the course at weekly intervals. Ella quickly demonstrated that this wasn't going to happen and injecting her took people with experience plus some firm holding.

I went out to collect the hi-vi jackets at lunch time - bright yellow ones this time printed with our names, the web site and sponsor's logos. It finshed up taking a while and just as well he waited till I turned up to print them as it was going to be done wrong. Tom who did the previous jackets was off sick.

I then went on another spending spree and bought 3 new pairs of shorts to try and look a little tidier, 2 pedometers so I can track how far I actually walk and an Akubra - to replace the grotty looking one I have. Got back to work about 1:30pm and about $500 poorer. I had by them only done the maps for 1 days walk, I still had changes to some JCL to do, plus downloading all the software fixes.

I got everything else done by drinks time and then started into the maps. I broke off at 8:30pm and decided to leave the rest till tomorrow. Got home and no internet connection. 2 hours one the phone with one Vodafone technician who was doing all the wrong things and then dropped my call. The next techo knew there stuff but no joy getting things to go. The last thing he wanted to do was to reset the router to original settings. Pushing the reset button did nothing so he logged a call to Chorus. After hanging up I found a button in the config utility that restored factory settings. Pushed it and the ADSL connected. Reset the usernames and the Wireless and he presto we are way - but with all the evening gone and nothing done. Ce la vie.

Tomorrow I promise a post of the dogs and me in our smart new hi viz vests.

The donations are now at 5% of target. That is enough for the first 2 days walk at $10km.
