Day 59 Rest Day Dunedin and Moeraki

A nice lie in again this morning. I let the dogs out about 6am and then they and I went back to bed until 8:45. Ella was up on the bed for the forst time in ages. She insisted on being on my left which is her usual spot even though that gave her the wall and left me on the edge of the bed.

I took Ella, Rapid, Tya and Bengie for a walk and then it was time to pack the van.

We had lunch with the Cancer Society in Dunedin and then did a visit to Oamaru and Kurow branches. I will be going through Oamaru on Sunday when they are closed. Kurow was missed off the route by mistake but it is a 58km diversion up the Waitaki valley so it would have added 3 days to the trip to go between Oamaru and Waimate via Kurow.

This evening we celebrated my 60th birthday at Fleur's Place in Moeraki. The food was really, really good. We are staying tonight with Raelene and Joe Thompson. Raelene drove us down to the restaurant and we walked back which meant none of us had to be sober.

Ella has started the job of taking over their house. We are only here 2 nights so I'm not sure if she will complete the job but I gather she has been on the beds already while we were at dinner.

6709 steps if anone is interested.
