Sometimes you can win

This weekend there was agility and jumpers at Horowhnua on Saturday and Kapiti on Sunday. In spite of promises of a fine weekend there were showers early in the day at Horowhenua before it cleared up for a nice afternoon. Kapiti got really good weather with it being clear all day - although rather cold early. Both days it got cold about 4pm.

Having decided that Rapid was never going to win out of Jumpers B as there were just too many fast dogs coming through a remarkable thing happened on Saturday. Rapid had a good but not fantastic run. Somehow all the ultra-fast midis managed to fault - quite a few of them on the closing sequence when the handlers got left behind. We finished up winning - 0.06 seconds ahead of Alannah and Kepa. For once the splits worked in my favour as the 2 really fast runs were maxis.

Sunday Rapid again took home some prize money getting 3rd in Senior at Kapiti.

I have no idea how far we walked over the weekend. I had Rapid out most of the day on Saturday getting used to his shoes but on Sunday I spent a lot of time entering results into the computer so Rapid spent a lot of time just sitting around.

Rapid was wearing his shoes much of Saturday and Sunday. He now can even jump with them on but he can't turn anything like as tight as you can't dig the claws in with boots on. The shoes drew a great deal of attention but people were less interested once they discovered the price. One good thing about Rapid having shoes on is that he will sit still rather than wandering around for preference. That tells me he isn't as comfortable in the shoes as he is in bare feet so I will stick with my plan for him to do the walk in bare feet unless they start to cause him troule.
