Coming ready or not

"All my bags are packed I'm ready to go ..." Just as well you can't here me sing. Departure for Christchurch is first thing tomorrow on the Bluebridge ferry and then driving to Christchurch with Paul to pick up the van. Walking starts Wednesday at 7:30am.

I was congratulating myself on getting everything in the car this afternoon with still plenty of room left for Paul's gear. Beginning to wonder why I had been worried all week about getting everything to fit in the car. So feeling rather smug I took the dogs for a walk. When I came back there sitting in the hallway is the rubbish bin I bought to put the dogs food in once I get to Christchurch. So pull a lot of stuff out and repack. Still a little room left on top of the load for Rapid. Ella is just going to have to share the back seat with Paul's bags.

Ella and Rapid kept hopping into the car while I was packing. I don't know if it is excitement at the thought of going on a trip or fear that I will leave them behind.

I have one little worry. While the left shoe of the Zamberlan walking shoes I will be wearing is really comfortable the arch on my right foot is a little higher and the shoe is a little tight across the top. Normally this leaves the foot red but it doesn't cause me any pain. Today I have been wearing different shoes - partly because the right foot is a little sore. Here's hoping it doesn't get worse.

I printed off some signs to go in the car and the van this morning. I'm sure others could have done something much more fancy but hopefully they will draw a wee bit of attention.

Entries for DAWG's show in November will close before I get back so I have done something really weird and sent the entry off before the schedule is out.

Kate believes that I am obsessed - but for the last 4 years I have been looking for number plates in number sequence 1, then 2 and so on. This weekend I found 500 through to 503. 4 numbers in 1 weekend is a good haul.
