I really enjoyed DAWG's show today. I helped a reasonable amount but when I felt like just standing back and letting others get on with it I did.
The day got off to a bumpy start when I discovered I had put Cam's courses and the running order sheets in the wrong bag yesterday. I then had to go into town and pick them up so I wasn't taking part in the set up.
I sorted out a couple of issues with dogs in the wrong height in the running orders and then entered the results for Novice. I was well behind at one stage but nearly caught up when the class finished and had results out before the Intermediate course was ready to walk.
After running Rapid in Intermediate Anne Packer and I got out a fly box. As we sent Jed and Rapid to the box Jo Cheremie took photo after photo looking for that really good action shot to put in their champion certificates.
The results in Intermediate showed why we should have split classes in agility. Rapid's was the slowest of 7 midi clear rounds but his time wa faster than that of all the minis and micros. Only one of the maxi's went faster than Rapid. It was a good but not a great run. I personally sometimes feel discriminated against when I see slower dogs getting prizes but realistically if the dogs in the other heights couldn't beat Rapid today then splits are actually making competition fairer.
After lunch I pottered around and helped a little here and there, built a couple of the courses but didn't do any solid work again until the last class - Jumper C when I was call steward. My leg stood up to the day really well. I have no pain at all - a big improvement on 2 weeks ago at Hawera when it was really quite sore - especially on the drive home on Sunday.
The big smile event of the day was getting 4th place in Jumpers B (which wasn't spilt but I think all the placings went to midis.
