Bangalore Tuesday 10th August 2010 11pm
I have had a very frustrating day at work. I can't use a printer without an Asia signon though I'm sure I could print last time I was in Bangalore. I can't get mainframe access either. Kavita was having a problem and I had to use Neha's PC to log on to see if I could fix it.
I don't have the messenger application installed on the PC or TRAMS/AG. Just more frustration.
I went to the food market after work tonight. Margarine is very hard to find in India. One store had none at all and the other had only 1 brand. However I found heaps of marmalade.
I have a cold. I went to the chemist shop. They took out cold pills and cut off one days supply -for a whole Rs21 (about 60 cents). I didn't feel like going down to the restaurant tonight so I ordered from room service - they have quite a few choices that aren't available in the restaurant including pasta which hit the spot nicely
Because the rain this year has not been very heavy Bangalore is getting only 8 hours power a day and from the newspaper it appears some suburbs are getting less than that. Certainly many of the small businesses are suffering because they do not have a reliable supply of power during the day. At the office and the hotel I am noticing at least 3 power cuts a day. In the office it is just some of the lighting that fails but at the hotel everything goes off then comes back on a minute later when they get the generator going.
