Bangalore 9 August 2010 11:15pm
I slept in this morning. It was 8:15am when I woke up and I had ordered the car for 9am. I made it at 9:15am. I could have been only 2 or 3 minutes late but I wanted to write an email to Natalie and Glenn who are looking after Ella.
There was no access card waiting for me when I arrived. Nor was there a docking station and I didn’t bring all the cables. I spent the morning trying to log on without success. The opinion in Bangalore is that the LAN card on my PC isn’t working properly but I could browse the net just fine.
Eventually I started using a desktop and was signed on by 1pm. Only 750 emails to work though. I had that down to about 100 by the time I left. The lights in Cherry Hills building keep going on and off just like last time I was there. It took about 45minutes to get back to the hotel in the evening traffic. I got ready to go for a walk but by the time I was ready it was raining so I fluffed around for an hour and a half. There was a power cut (surprise, surprise) that stopped me playing on the internet so I had dinner before going for a walk.
The first part of the walk was along some of the best footpath in Bangalore. I was looking up at the direction sign ahead trying to decide which way I should head when I fell into a ditch. There is never any warning about holes in the road or the footpath. Just suddenly there they are. And they never seem to get filled in again. However I got away with nothing wounded but my pride and the rest of the walk I remembered to stop when not looking where I’m walking.
