May 17 Cizur Menor to Maneru.

Had dinner with Doug and Amy from Arizona. Amy is very good at getting people to talk and I finished up saying way more than I meant to over dinner. We talked about staying at Eunate tonight but the old hostel there has been closed. Breakfast this morning is energy drink the last of the apples from Lucon and a packet of vashews.
My mind was racing last night here there and everywhere. I usually use a contemplative prayer to help me drift off to sleep but last night I couldn't manage it. I was even planningmy vvisits to Gwen in case Jane decides to return to England and wondering if she is the "daughter" I will get to walk down the aisle since Fiona and Kate don't seem likely to let me do it.

9:30am Alto del Perdon
Alto del Perdon is the hill of forgiveness.I have just realized that I am racing trying to catch up with Doug and Amy and I haven't even thought about who I need to forgive or what I need to be forgiven for. On the plus side nearly 9km in 2 hours since starting and they include a climb of 400 m.

Eunate at noon
Never did meet up with Doug and Smy. I felt it was time to leave them and meet someone new on the Camino but it would have been nice to say goodbye.
This little octagonal chapel is beautiful. It is 13th century and connected some how with the Knights Templar. It is one of Ron's thin places but the plain stone walls reverberate with even a whisper and the visitors that come in pairs just won't keep the silence the signs ask for.

Maneru 5pm
This is where I was planning to end the day. The climb from yhe river to the town is only about 70m but it is very steep and used all my energy. I don't think I could have made yhe 3km to the next town. All people I haven't spent time with here even though I have met them on the track.

My love to Mother, Iain, Fiona, Kate, Alexander, Jane, Gwen, Sonia and Eva. You are in my prayers and I look forward to being with you again.
