Day 38 Omarama to Dunstan Downs

Walked by Mike & Rapid 16.9km 23097 steps. Walked by Ella - nothing, but she does look more spritely this afternoon.

I had a sleep in today. Got up at 6:20am to discover that Rapid had crapped in his crate. The amount of rubbish he is finding along the roads meant that sooner or later something would make him loose and this would happen. I rinsed or the crap off his mat and went back to bed till 9am. I then had to wash a load of towels and a couple of dog mats - that was basicly the morning gone.

Fiona and I had lunch at The Oasis in Omarama and then Rapid & I walked the 16.9km back to Dunstan Downs. We bought a heap of food at The Oasis for tomorrows walk and the nice people gave us 25% off that and our lunch. Somehow I missed giving the dogs lunch so they got their's when I had afternoon tea 10km out of Omarama.

It was another fine day - mostly sunny but some clouds coming over from time to time. The wind is quite cool and I was just a little cold when the sun went behind a cloud.

Another toe nail came off while I was putting socks on today so I am down to 6.

Rapid got a prickle in his foot for the second time on the trip. He just stops and holds the paw in the air.

Bacon and eggs for dinner tonight and I'm writing this in Omarama pub - drinks on the house while watching Allblacks thrash Japan. I will take the bucket around shortly.
