Really nice not to have to set the alarm as leaving time of Picton was 8:20am. Somewhere during the night Ella had kicked Rapid off the bed. I finally got to see the view out the bedroom wind - a spectacular view of the confluence of the Maruia and Buller Rivers.
I sat in the back of the van across the seat with my feet up on the drive to Picton. Alison had never been to Nelson Lakes so we drove down to the lake front at St Arnaud for a quick look.
We were a little early so stopped at Wairau Valley to let the dogs have a run - a little too much run as we finished up getting to Picton at the same side as the ferry. I set myself up in a cafe and wrote the blig for Day 18 for the second time as I thought I had lost it - then found it again just after I had finished rewriting. It was then time for my interview with Compass Radio in Rangiora with Grant. While I was doing that Alex took the dogs up to the exercise area. We then walked the length of Picton's main street to find the National Bank ATM and get some more cash.
Alex drove back to Murchison while I relaxed, and even had a couple of short naps. On return it was time for a nap and then into Murchison, where one of the cafe's with internet was open. They were having issues with their internet but I did get half a blog done before they kicked us out. Alex then had the fun of bandaging me feet. He did a fairly good job too.
