I needed to go to the loo fairly early this morning so I let the dogs out at the same time. The reward was I got to sleep in till 7am. After a fairly leisurely breakfast Rapid, Ella & I went back and walked the chunk from Bishopsdale to Stoke that I had skipped yesterday.
Machiko Briggs arrived at 10am and gave Ella and Rapid a massage. It is obvious that although she is walking quite happily Ella's hip is giving her a little problem as every time Machiko went to massage it she would roll over and present tummy. Later in the day I noticed a small cut on one of Ella's pads which would explain why she was wanting to walk in the tyre marks where there was no gravel on Maitai Valley Rd. Just after Machiko left Ella turned on Rapid. I don't know what the poor boy has done that everyone is beating him up. Ella wouldn't break off and finished up biting me on the elbow - fortunately through clothes. She quickly backed off after that as she knew I wasn't amused.
I spent the rest of the morning reclining in the sun catching up on emails and browsing the net.
After lunch Alison & I went into the Cancer Society offices. The staff seem a bit frazzled, probably by the work required for Daffodil Day next week. I went around Richmond Mall and got to pick out my own lunch for tomorrow. On returning to Karen's place Rapid refused to get out of the van. Afraid of getting attacked again I think.
Alison went back to the city to get me a new backpack and also to pick up the support crew vests that were being printed. She had to wait a bit for the vests to be ready so went across to the pub and did a collection. I was surprised that they let Rapid in.
This evening I spoke at the AGM of the Nelson Dog Training Club. After my speech and the presentations I came back home while the boring or firey bit of the meeting happened - i wait to find out which way it went.
