Daddy I don't want to get out

When I got to Ang & Simons place last night Rapid didn't want to get out of the car. The only other time he is like that is at home when I start packing the car the night before a trip. He jumps in the car to make sure he is coming and is very reluctant to get out.

He isn't stupid. He knew I packed far more food for him than I usually do and nothing for myself. Ella was out of the car like a shot I think she likes Ang and would have happily stayed. When he finally did jump out it was as I was shutting a door and he got a bang from it - but fortunately none of him shut in the door.

I got an email from Ang this morning
"Rapid sat in the front window looking for you for a while, but we went for a walk and it seem to help.
He ate his tea not a problem and we got a lot of tail wags. This morning and emy and rapid are buddying up"
Ang I can assure you Rapid will never have a problem about eating.

An interesting aside from the trip. There are road works at the Flaxmere round about where the expressway is being extended south to Maraekakaho Rd. Going into Napier although it was a sunny day not one but 2 cars were stuck in the mud. There was a single lane temporary road built for southbound traffic and that was then having to handle traffic in both directions so a fairly big delay. Heading south I was held up for a long time but just before I got to the roundabout they managed to reopen the northbound lane. I felt one wheel spin as I went through the deep loose gravel on the temporary road. I suspect it would have been a problem again before the night was over.

Getting ready to walk Ella this morning I was walking around the house without the lights on and felt something wet through my socks by the back door. Turning the light on I found what I think was an upchuck on the floor. Great way to start the morning.

Ella was rather disappointed that there was no bread for the birds in Robertson Rd.

Okay must stop writing this blog so I can get to work. Still haven't started packing. Lets hope I don't forget anything important in the last minute rush.
