I'm Mike Butler. I was born in 1951 and live in Island Bay in Wellington with my daughter Kate. I have 2 dogs - Ella a 10 year old Kelpie and Rapid a 5 year old Border Collie. Also sharing the house are Kate's dogs Kayne a 9 year old Border Collie cross and Spring a 2 year old Border Collie.
Dog Agility is one of my favourite activities. Most weekends I spend competing with the dogs at dog agility events. I am also an agility judge so I get to judge others a few times a year.
I also have an interest in buses and 2 or 3 times a year I go on a trip around New Zealand photographing buses. I put together the Omnibus Society web site so if buses also interest you you will find lots about them at http://www.omnibussociety.wellington.net.nz/.
In order to pay for these hobbies I work as an Analyst Programmer at ANZ National Bank Ltd where I maintain the credit card systems for ANZ and National Bank of New Zealand. It is a really great job that I am very happy with. The work is varied and interesting and I work with some very capable people. I also have the challenge of supervising work done by 3 programmers in Bangalore.
